Ohmigosh … what if Disney just rebooted Star Wars, the way Paramount did with Star Trek or Warners does with Batman?

For some reason, the thought of rebooting Star Wars offends me more than rebooting those other franchises, which is weird because I’m a bigger fan of Star Trek & Batman than Star Wars. I guess I’m used to new versions of Batman and Star Trek coming out periodically.

In the meantime, enjoy this clip from the 2003 Star Wars: Clone Wars series. That’s basically the last time I enjoyed new Star Wars content (I’m making no statements on the quality of new Star Wars stuff; I just stopped following it after Episode 3.)

(My apologies if the whole internet already hashed out this possibility a few months ago. Like I say, I don’t follow Star Wars anymore.)

That was my first reaction once I heard they bought Lucasfilms. I give them until Lucas passes away before they reboot the whole franchise. It was such an uneven series with so much potential. 2 alright films out of 6 isn’t a great track record.

I still want my Wookie planet goddamnit.

My first thought was that Disney would know better than to center a whole movie around a space rastafarian and a dumb kid.

This is funny to say, because I feel like Disney pioneered the use of funny animal comic relief and dumb kids. I guess I feel like Disney would do a better job of it.
