Holy crap, this is an awesome cover for Daredevil #10.1, by Marcos Martin:

Love it.

This whole “point one” numbering scheme by Marvel, on the other hand, is ridiculously stupid.

I dunno. I get bored seeing the same identical head silhouette just flipped on each panel. The whole thing seems a little… “un-subtle” to me. Decent concept, ham-handed execution.

  • Dara says:

I think with the distinct color images behind the head silhouettes, if the silhouettes themselves were all also varied, it would have made for a very busy design.

  • Tom Williams says:

It’s refreshing when these pop up, given that Marvel usually craps out the photo-realistic wankery. When I think about consistently great covers, Marvel doesn’t immediately pop in my head. Maybe when Quesada leaves, they’ll stop this silly mandate where most of the covers never reflect the events inside the book. It’s a story, not a flippin’ annual report with a stock photo on the cover.
