What timing! Just a couple of days ago I was bemoaning the fact that comics publishers don’t bother to survey their readership and get a better understanding of their marketplace, when DC goes and hires the Nielsen group to do just that.

The survey is geared specifically towards the New 52 relaunch. But if you’d like to give them a piece of your mind, good or bad, click here to take the survey. It’ll take you probably around 15 minutes or so.

I thought it was a pretty good survey, as far as these things go. There were several places where they provide you with a free-form field to type out your opinions, so you can definitely go in depth with your concerns, observations, accolades, or rants.

I notice “I used to be a comic book fan and I just started to buy comics again” is an option, and they underlined it. I am so right.

OMG, I think I just provided feedback for Heroes & Games in the Convention Center.

    I self-identified as African-American. What the hell.

    Sure, I’ll participate in a follow-up interview.

A comment for Craig: “Keep ’em PG-13, please. These characters are on kids’ lunch boxes.”

I think I’m breaking the confidentiality agreement here.

  • Craig B says:

I’ll be sure not to use the line about lunch boxes when I take it…

  • Tony says:

    You can use “trapper keepers.”

  • Dara says:

Apparently there are Nielsen folks in several big city comic book stores asking folks to take the survey in person. Comedian/Actor Patton Oswalt apparently got all pissy about a particularly pushy survey jockey and has sworn off all DC Comics forever. Man, that must have been one mean survey taker!

  • Tony says:

What true comic fan would pass up the chance to tell DC Comics what they think? That’s just weird.
