Just a reminder, this Saturday, May 7th, is Free Comic Book Day.
Drop on by your local comic book store for free comics from all the major (and minor) publishers. There will be comics for kids, teens, and grow-ups.
Also on Saturday, for you Central Ohio folks, you can drop by the Ohioana Book Festival.
Celebrating Ohio born and based writers, the festival features dozens and dozens of authors, readings, workshops, and more. One of this year’s feature guests is comic book artist Sandy Plunkett. Unfortunately, I missed the application deadline this year, so I don’t have a table, but having attended for the first time last year as a guest, I can say that this is a pure reader-centric festival. The crowd who attends is there because they love books and reading, and they’re enthusiastic, energetic, and put out a great vibe. So if that sounds like your scene, be sure to drop by. Oh, and best of all, admission is free!
